Why EastEnders fans haven’t seen the last of newcomer Okie

EastEnders star Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu has given soap fans an update on his character Okie, promising viewers that they haven’t seen the last of him.

First appearing on Albert Square last week, drug dealer Okie was enlisted by a financially ruined Ravi Gulati to help him do a dodgy job in order to make some quick cash.

After Ravi hid the drugs in his car and stashed it in the garage, Kojo found the supply and flushed it down the toilet. Harry covered for Kojo by staging a break-in.

In scenes that aired last week, Okie turned up at Avani’s 16th birthday party where he told Ravi he wanted to speak to him about the missing drugs.

Ravi asked Harry to go outside with him as he didn’t trust Okie, and when Okie told Ravi that the Panesars were a joke without Nish, Ravi brutally attacked the drug dealer.

While it seemed as though Okie’s appearance on the soap last week was supposed to be short-lived, Okie star Aayan has now revealed to fans that he will be back.

Surprising fans with the new information, Aayan took to social media, where he revealed that his role would be more than just a quick guest appearance.

Sharing a series of photos to his Instagram page, Aayan captioned the post: “Okie’s on the Square. Lock into @bbceastenders for the next couple months.”

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts, with one fan saying: “Loving your character atm!!! What a great addition to the show! Do hope you’re in it for a long time.”

“Just the start of something big,” penned one fan, while another wrote: “Glad we will be seeing more of okie!”

“Okie is better looking than Harry and my new fave Eastender‘s character after Ravi,” commented one fan.
