An upcoming Tulsa King spinoff starring Samuel L. Jackson will mark the first time one of Taylor Sheridan’s shows other than Yellowstone created a spinoff series. Jackson is set to appear in Tulsa King season 3 and then star in a new spinoff show titled NOLA King, which takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana. While Sheridan isn’t very involved in Tulsa Kinganymore – he only created the pilot, while Dave Erickson is acting as showrunner for season 3 – it is the first time one of his creations other than Yellowstone is turning into a verifiable franchise.
Shocking Facts You Didn’t Know About Tulsa King
All of Sheridan’s other shows are either tied into Yellowstone or act as their own original projects. Yellowstone, 1883, and 1923 all tell the story of the Dutton family and their fight to control their ranch. Shows like Landman, Lioness, and Mayor of Kingstown, however, are all standalone series that have never had spinoffs of their own. It’s the first step to making Tulsa King into a franchise, and the first step to another Taylor Sheridan show rivaling Yellowstone in terms of sheer scope and size.
