Next week on Casualty, Stevie returns to work and faces the shift from hell, with Flynn growing concerned about her welfare. Meanwhile, Nicole faces up to her past, and Iain’s decision proves controversial.

1. Stevie returns to work

With her chemotherapy finished, Stevie is keen to ease herself back into work. As a side effect of her treatment, she suffers from tingling in her hands, but she is determined to keep this pain to herself.
On Stevie’s first morning back in the ED, she is welcomed back by Flynn – and thrown straight in at the deep end. The department is in chaos, with huge numbers of overdose patients stretching the team to their limits. Flynn believes that the patients have taken heroin which has been laced with dangerous opioids.

2. Nicole gets a blast from the past

Nicole is struggling at work and is upset when she gets confirmation that Ngozi has truly moved on after she suddenly ended their relationship. But she gets another big surprise when her foster mother Maggie is brought into the ED.
Maggie asks Nicole to look after her foster daughter Cassie, who has accompanied her to the hospital. But when an unexpected chain of events takes place, what is in store for the doctor?

3. Flynn grows concerned

Flynn and Stevie work together to treat patients in Resus, but the sheer number of admissions becomes overwhelming. Flynn is forced to leave Stevie alone but has faith that she can cope on her own. However, Flynn later notices that Stevie’s hands are trembling while treating a patient, so he promptly takes over her responsibilities in Resus.
He later confronts her about why she has kept this pain a secret from him, but how will Stevie react?

4. Iain’s choice sends shockwaves

Following his heroics on the crane, and amid fractures in the paramedic team, Iain made the decision to join HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) on secondment.
Faith isn’t too pleased about this, and she tries to get Jan to persuade him to change his mind.
Meanwhile, another of the paramedics makes a life-changing decision about their future – who else is making a big move?

5. Rash gets nervous

Things are looking up for Rash, and he is excited about the future when Flynn suggests that he restarts his CESR training to progress his career. He is also interested in getting to know pharmacist Sunny, with sparks flying between the pair.
But Rash’s attempts to ask her out don’t go too well – will he make a move? And could there be another romance developing in the team?
