The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) have called it quits in the most disappointing way possible, so let’s talk about the fan reaction.
Instead of turning this into a dramatic moment with a real explanation, Katie simply had a throwaway line of dialogue in the June 10 episode where she mentioned that Carter was her last relationship.
Of course, that means Katie is no longer in a relationship with Carter, which was evident by the somewhat wistful look on his face as he reacted.
Carter and Katie are on good terms following their split, but it’s unfortunate that their breakup happened off-screen.
However, no one can really be surprised since Katie and Carter’s whole romance mostly happened off-screen as well.
The show never devoted much time to making Carter and Katie a real pairing, so it’s not all that shocking that they’ve moved on.
That’s especially true now that B&B needs Katie single for this storyline with Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park).
It’s obvious that it didn’t fit the plot for Katie to be in a relationship with Carter anymore, so the writers just ended them and made Katie obsessed with Bill’s love life instead.
On social media, many fans have been complaining about how it all went down.
Carter and Katie arguably had potential as a couple if they’d been given a chance to shine, but they’re not a planned couple anymore.
Katie could easily end up back with Bill instead, but will he ever treat her right?
Plenty of viewers fear Katie could be signing up for more heartache if she reunites with the ex-husband who’s repeatedly betrayed her.
Carter also deserves better than this kind of writing, particularly since he already faced an off-screen breakup with Quinn Fuller after Rena Sofer departed the role.
At the very least, Carter and Katie should’ve decided to end their relationship in some actual scenes that mattered!
Sadly, that’s not what happened, so we’ll just have to roll with it and hope for some more positive romantic updates eventually.
