Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Yellowstone’ Is Poised To Suffer a Tragic Streaming Blow After Two Months of Dominance
Once Yellowstone arrived in 2018, it didn’t take the series long to catch fire and become a global sensation. It ran for five seasons before concluding in a controversial finale that aired on December 15 last year, and the show has been a hit on streaming in the months since. Taylor Sheridan’s Western series has been in the Peacock top 10 for 67 days now, roaming around the top spot on TV charts. However, after sliding to #9 on the streamer’s charts, it looks like the show might finally make its grand exit from Peacock’s top 10, possibly for good. Even if Yellowstone does depart the Peacock top 10 in the coming days, its run in the top 10 since going off the air will always be remembered.
Before Taylor Sheridan kicked off the first season of Yellowstone with Kevin Costner, he’d never written an episode of TV before and had only worked on movies. Sheridan made his screenwriting debut on Sicario, the 2015 action thriller starringJosh Brolin and Emily Blunt. The film was such a hit that it earned a sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, both of which are streaming on Netflix at the time of writing. Sheridan also teamed up with Star Trek veteran Chris Pine for Hell or High Water, the contemporary Western/police procedural that also stars Jeff Bridges. This was one year before he worked with Marvel stars Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen on Wind River, another Western film that’s currently lacking a streaming home. Sheridan’s most recent screenplays were for Without Remorse, the 2021 action thriller starring Michael B. Jordan, and Those Who Wish Me Dead, the R-rated conspiracy thriller starring Angelina Jolie.

The most recent Sheridan creation came in the form of Landman, the hit Paramount+ series led by Billy Bob Thornton. Landman earned record viewership for the streamer during its first season, and the show was such a success that Paramount is already hard at work on Season 2, which is coming out later this year. Landman fans can currently enjoy a solid discount on the physical media for the show, which is 33% off on Amazon. Sheridan is also known for his work on Tulsa King, Lioness, 1923, and Mayor of Kingstown.Yellowstone finished its final season last year, but the show can still be streamed on Peacock.
