A Hollywood Love Story Ends in Divorce

A Hollywood Romance Comes to an End

After nearly two decades together, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner have officially ended their marriage. The couple, who married in 2004, finalized their divorce in February 2024, following a lengthy and public legal battle.

The Beginning of Their Relationship

Costner and Baumgartner began dating in 1998 and married at Costner’s Colorado ranch in 2004. They have three children together: Cayden Wyatt, 16; Hayes Logan, 14; and Grace Avery, 13. The relationship appeared to be one of Hollywood’s more stable unions, but in May 2023, Baumgartner filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

The Legal Battle

The divorce proceedings were contentious, with disputes over child custody, support payments, and the validity of their prenuptial agreement. Baumgartner initially sought $175,000 per month in child support, but a judge ultimately ordered Costner to pay approximately $63,000 per month. The couple reached a settlement agreement in September 2023, avoiding a scheduled trial in December.

Custody Arrangements

Under the terms of the settlement, Costner and Baumgartner share joint custody of their three children. The arrangement aims to provide stability for the children amid the changes in their family dynamic.

Post-Divorce Developments

Since the divorce, Baumgartner has moved on with financier Josh Connor, a longtime friend and former neighbor. Connor proposed to Baumgartner in January 2025, and she has expressed happiness and contentment in her new relationship.

Costner, for his part, has stated that he remains open to finding love again. In an interview, he mentioned, “People are supposed to be together. So I’m sure that could happen for me.”

Conclusion: A New Chapter for Both

The end of Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner’s marriage marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in both of their lives. While the divorce was marked by legal disputes and public scrutiny, both parties appear to be moving forward and embracing new beginnings.
