EastEnders has revealed the aftermath of Jack Branning discovering the shocking truth about Patrick’s attack.

Oscar was responsible for putting Patrick in hospital earlier this month, with Howie using this knowledge to blackmail him and Lauren for the stolen money.

Howie was frustrated by Oscar’s new friendship with Patrick and the pair ended up in a fight, with Jack determined to get to the bottom of their feud.

Lauren ended up telling Jack about the recent incident with Peter – but when Jack confronted his nephew about it, Oscar got the wrong end of the stick and ended up confessing to Patrick’s attack.

In next week’s scenes, Jack initially urges Oscar to hand himself in to the police. However, he soon has a change of heart when Lauren begs him not to send her brother back to prison so soon after his release.

Jack agrees to keep quiet about Oscar’s involvement, and reports back to the Truemans that the case is now closed as there is a lack of evidence.

However, he can’t keep the truth from his partner Denise, who is naturally furious and confronts Oscar and Lauren herself. This latest telling off is the final straw for Oscar, who can’t cope with the guilt and finally admits to Patrick that he attacked him.

Patrick is devastated by his new friend’s betrayal, and the shock of Oscar’s confession triggers another panic attack. He is supported by his worried family – including his son Anthony, who returns to Walford next week ahead of his dad’s wedding.

As all hell breaks loose and accusations fly amongst the family, it soon becomes clear to Anthony and Yolande that Jack and Denise already knew the truth about Oscar.

As Jack and Denise come under fire, Anthony demands that they report Oscar to the police, but Jack is clear that Patrick needs to make the final decision.

How the situation unfolds from here is being kept under wraps, but Oscar later ends up at the police station and is terrified that he is on his way back to prison.
