Coronation Street fans have concerns over Theo Silverton as he displayed worrying signs during a recent trip to the cobbles.
Fans have become increasingly aware of the character’s behaviour in recent weeks, having got into a relationship with Weatherfield favourite Todd Grimshaw.
Fans of the ITV soap will recall that it’s been months now since the undertaker and builder unexpectedly met on the cobbles, with sparks quickly flying between the pair.
But weeks later, it transpired that Theo had a secret wife, Danielle, and two children, but knowing he was battling with his family’s religious beliefs, he revealed he’d been subject to conversion therapy.
Theo was quick to blame Todd for the drama that unfolded, and later told him to sleep on the sofa or he’d never see him again. Todd then headed for a night in the living room on his own.
They have since made amends and have been looking at moving out into their own place together, much to George Shuttleworth’s upset. During Monday’s (August 4) episode, Corrie fans saw George Shuttleworth upset at the idea, but Todd reassured him they’d be around “all the time”, but Theo interjected that it wouldn’t be “all the time”.
As they sat down to watch a film with a brew, Todd decided to cheer George up and suggested they headed to Dev Alahan’s stag do at the Rovers Return. George and Todd quickly let loose, but Theo didn’t hide his unease and later faked a headache to head home, with Todd following him.
Then, in the follow-up episode on Wednesday (August 6), Theo didn’t seem pleased when Summer Spellman showed up at Todd’s unannounced. Summer, who considers Todd a father figure in her life, told Theo she had a spare key and wanted to do her uni reading at theirs, ruining the couple’s impromptu romantic plans for their day off.
After Todd decided to spend some more time with Summer, later, Theo could barely contain his anger at Summer as she was comfortably snuggled on Todd’s sofa.
And the scenes have left fans concerned about what Theo could be capable of, and think they have worked out a killer twist with it known that Daniel Brocklebank will be leaving Corrie as Billy Mayhew.
Bossk_989 shared on Reddit: “Don’t know if predictions are usually done on here but i thought I’d share mine. Theo becomes abusive towards Todd and that goes on for a while. After a while, Todd finally speaks up about it to Billy. As Billy tries to help or go to the police, Theo will kill Billy for “interfering” as his rage grows and he is more abusive, thus will have less limits.
“Billy’s death will have a huge impact on Summer and Todd, and I think will do one of two things. Either Todd and Summer grow closer and they begin to live together and Todd is her sole father. Or it causes a rift between them as Summer blames Todd for bringing Theo into their lives, this would lead to summer having some sort of crisis and breakdown due to feeling completely alone. Just a prediction though.”
Round-Leg-1788 replied: “Yeah 100% this Is the route they’re going down and it will be so sad and awful to watch.” nostalgic_muffin echoed: “Agree this is where this is going – just commented it on another post before seeing this one. Billy getting killed trying to protect Todd from Theo, or something. How depressing!”
Lego_Panda_Bear added: “I have also been thinking that Theo’s abuse of Todd will lead to Billy’s death. I think Billy will try to help Todd and Theo will fly into a rage and hit Billy too hard, or cause Billy to fall and hit his head, resulting in death. Of course, it will be an accident, Theo didn’t mean to hit him, he just couldn’t control himself.
“Todd will stand by his man. Summer will pull away from the only father she has left, and everyone on the street will stand by her. Theo’s ex-wife and children will blame everything on Todd, for forcing Theo to come out. Todd will be completely alone in his love for Theo, and even more alone when Theo goes to prison. It will take extensive therapy (off-screen of course) for Todd to realise he had been abused, manipulated, and made to push everyone away.”
