This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) and Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) wedding day didn’t exactly go according to plan in tonight’s Coronation Street, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from a soap wedding.
Things started to go wrong from the moment everyone woke up and discovered that the quads had caught a stomach bug.
Bernie was gutted that her grandchildren wouldn’t be there for her big day, but luckily Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) came up with a plan to livestream the event.
The day got worse from there when Bernie interrupted a robbery at home, only to discover that the burglar was grandson Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey).
Unfortunately, there was more still to come once she arrived at the venue.

She was less than impressed to learn that Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) had hijacked her special day to propose to Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), though her mood improved when Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) finally called her mum.
However, disaster struck mid-ceremony when Bernie found herself struggling for breath, with Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) rushing to call an ambulance.
At the hospital, Bernie was surprised when the doctor told her she had had an asthma attack, as she doesn’t suffer from asthma.

Later, it was confirmed that she’d actually had an allergic reaction to the lilies that made up her bouquet.
Thankfully it wasn’t too serious, and she was back at home by the end of the day, having shared vows and swapped rings with Dev at the hospital.
Unfortunately, there was yet more chaos to follow, when Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) finally came clean about the debts he had accrued, and the insurance scam he had committed in an attempt to recoup his losses.
With Dev furious at Aadi and Bernie having come clean about her involvement, what does the future hold for the family?
