It is the day of Aaron and John’s wedding and drama is about to unfold thanks to one person – and no, it is not Mackenzie.

In tonight’s episode of ITV’s Emmerdale, which can be viewed early on ITV X now, Aidan’s mum Cathleen, is threatening to hang out John’s ‘dirty laundry’ in public after tracking him down to the village and persuade him to visit her son.

But despite her plea, John tells Cathleen that he has moved on and is about to get married that day. Now Cathleen is refusing to move and begins to shout about his former fiancé who is in hospital calling to see him. Worried about who will hear the commotion, John ushers Cathleen inside – but what will he do to keep her silent?

This inconvenience annoys John as the day was going so well for him after hearing that the draining of the lake had been stopped when he visited the site earlier. And despite Aaron also walking in on him packing his bags earlier that morning, when he planned to leave the village, the pair made up by cuddling and reassured each other that getting married was going to be a good thing.

John then told Aaron that he had no longer had ‘cold feet’ – so the wedding was back on. But is that still the case with Cathleen standing in his way of happiness?

Elsewhere in the village, Ross distracts his half-brother Lewis with a day of kayaking while he blackmails Mackenzie to raid his house and steal cannabis plants to sell and raise money to save the farm.

Will he be able to get back in time to hand over the rings at Aaron and John’s wedding?
