Next week, Emmerdale fans can expect to hear wedding bells chiming as Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) prepare to say their vows.
However, in classic soap opera fashion, the path to marital bliss isn’t smooth for John, who’s worried that his ex-lover Aidan Moore might ruin the big day.
As John and Aaron’s wedding day dawns, John finds solace in the company of his half-sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) while they get ready for the ceremony.
Yet, John is haunted by nightmares of being arrested for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) murder, with the lake where he disposed of the body scheduled to be dredged that very day due to a slurry leak – ironically caused by John himself.
When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) reveals that the dredging has commenced, John panics, hastily packing his bags to escape the village. However, Aaron stumbles upon his fiancé’s attempted getaway, but John manages to convince him it’s merely pre-wedding nerves, reports Leicestershire Live.
Once Aaron departs, John makes his move, driving off to hide near the lake. Just as he receives a heartfelt text from Aaron, he learns that the lake dredging has been called off.
With this news, John decides to proceed with the wedding, only to be confronted by Aidan’s mum, Cathleen, who brings word that Aidan has emerged from his coma and is asking for him.
The same day unfolds across the week’s episodes, with John plagued by nightmares of Aidan disrupting his big day. Will John and Aaron make it down the aisle?
Danny Miller first graced Emmerdale as Aaron Dingle in 2008, but after a five-year stint, he left to pursue other opportunities, including a regular role in the crime drama Scott and Bailey.
However, in 2014, he made a comeback to Emmerdale, only to exit again seven years later. Around this time, he joined the cast of I’m A Celebrity and emerged victorious.
In 2023, Emmerdale confirmed that Danny would once again reprise his role as Aaron. Away from the dramatic twists and turns of the Yorkshire Dales, Danny enjoys a more tranquil family life.
Marriage and fatherhood
In 2022, Danny tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Steph Jones in a beautiful ceremony in Cheshire, attended by close friends, family, and fellow celebrities. The soap star first crossed paths with the midwife at school, but they didn’t become an item until 2019.
Fast forward two years to 2021, during a trip to St Lucia that Steph had arranged for Danny’s 30th birthday, he proposed. The couple exchanged vows a year later.
A month after the proposal, the couple discovered they were expecting their first child, expanding their family to three. At the time, they had been contemplating IVF treatment when Steph found out she was naturally pregnant.
Speaking to OK! about their unexpected pregnancy journey, she exclaimed: “It was a massive surprise because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF. It was meant to be. We got engaged at the beginning of January and found out we were expecting in February.”
Now two years on, the pair have joyfully introduced a baby girl to their family. In August 2023, Danny shared heartwarming footage of their son Albert greeting his sister for the first time, proudly stating: “That’s your baby sister, Albert. You’re a big brother now.”
Famous dad
Within their household, fame runs in the blood as Danny’s father, Vince Miller, is also a cherished personality within the entertainment sphere.
Affectionately known as the ‘king of comperes,’ Vince garnered recognition playing the VIP host for Manchester United, despite his son being an avid supporter of Liverpool FC.
Vince, 91, boasts an impressive showbiz career spanning 65 years, during which he encountered luminaries like Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey and memorably delivered a eulogy at Bernard Manning’s funeral.
A key chapter in Vince’s life unfolded when at 82, he discussed his retirement with the Manchester Evening News, reflecting: “I have no regrets about it. The time is now to retire while you’re on top. You don’t want people saying ‘not him again’.”
Career news
Danny, best known for his role as Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, appears to have branched out into the world of audiobook narration, much to the delight of his son Albert.
Announcing the exciting news on X, previously known as Twitter, Danny shared the development with his followers. In a post from July 2023, he wrote: “Myself and @nigewingmanclucas are delighted to finally announce the release of ALBERTS BOOKSHELF! ! .”

He went on to say: “Please watch the video as it explains the bigger picture behind releasing our very own audiobooks of some of Albert’s Favourite books read by his Dad.
“If you’re fortunate enough to be a parent of a child who adores books as much as Albert does, this might offer you the opportunity to simply sit or lie back with them and let their imagination soar.”
