After Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) crashed and burned last week trying to ask out Sunny Callahan (Jamie Marie Leary), fans may have feared the slow-burn romance had flamed out. But never underestimate Jodie Whyte (Anna Chell), Holby’s unofficial Cupid and chaos coordinator!
This week, the quick-witted nurse takes matchmaking into her own hands with what she claims is a totally innocent group hangout — but the only people who can actually make it are… Rash and Sunny.
🎯 Step 1: The Setup
Jodie pretends it’s someone’s birthday. (No one knows whose.)
She floats the idea to everyone in the staffroom:
Jodie (grinning): “We all need a night off. Drinks. Music. A chance to de-stress. Who’s in?”
When the list mysteriously dwindles due to ‘last-minute emergencies,’ only Rash and Sunny are still free. Jodie shrugs.
Jodie: “Weird coincidence! But hey, it’ll still be fun.”
Rash immediately suspects something.
Rash (nervous): “Wait… is this a date?”
Jodie (innocently): “Only if you make it one.”
💫 Step 2: The Hangout
Jodie books a local bar and tells the pair to meet her there. Spoiler: she’s “running late.” Very late.
Rash arrives first, awkwardly adjusting his shirt collar every 30 seconds.
Sunny walks in and immediately laughs.
Sunny: “Let me guess. Everyone bailed?”
Rash: “Jodie swears this wasn’t a setup.”
Sunny (playfully): “Of course not. So, shall we pretend we didn’t see through it… and have a good time anyway?”
Cue soft music, candlelight, and a drink spill that leads to very close proximity and laughter. The two finally relax.
🥹 The Honest Moment
As the night winds down, Rash finally opens up.
Rash: “I like you. I’ve liked you since the first time you told me my handwriting was a crime against humanity.”
Sunny (smiling): “That’s honestly the nicest confession I’ve ever had.”
They both lean in. It’s not quite a kiss. But it’s something.
👀 Jodie Watching from Afar?
Just as things get real, the camera pans to outside the bar. Jodie is across the street, watching through the window — drink in hand, proud smile on her face.
Jodie (to herself): “Match. Made.”
