Emmerdale fans are predicting a romance will blossom between Lewis Barton and one specific character.

A short scene that happened during Wednesday’s episode saw Vinny Dingle and fiancée Gabby Thomas go to the café where no-one was seemingly working.

Lewis said he knew how to use the coffee machine and offered to make them drinks, and Vinny joked if he could use oxy cutters too.

Gabby balked at the idea of Vinny offering him a job, stating that he could be like his half-brother Ross.

Lewis replied that he could hear her, and while he didn’t need a job, had some scrap metal he could bring over later, to Vinny’s delight.

Then, when Gabby shot down Vinny’s idea of her getting a slightly bigger wedding dress than the one she had her eye on, the camera specifically cut back to Lewis. It did so again when Vinny’s friend Kammy Hadiq came in and put his hands on Vinny’s shoulders.

That almost-minute-and-a-half was enough to get fans predicting a romance for Lewis and Vinny, with one viewer stating that “something is going to happen between Lewis and Vinny”.

“They’re not gonna put Lewis and Vinny together… are they?” questioned another, while a third more definitively said “Lewis and Vinny will be a couple soon”.

“Emmerdale might get the second gay pairing (Vinny + Lewis), but they’ll be more quirky than sexy,” a fourth viewer said.

Another viewer believes that Vinny was definitely being “eyed up” by Lewis, but that Kammy is the “love of his life”.

Fans aren’t just grasping at straws here, as recent scenes have seen Vinny actually try to kiss Kammy.

Next week, he’s set to actually tell Gabby that he’s struggling with his sexuality, although someone else hears about it first.
