From Platt to Presenter? Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd Hints at Career Shake-Up After Celebrity Big Brother Win 🏆🎤📺

Fresh off his triumphant win on Celebrity Big Brother 2025, Coronation Street veteran Jack P Shepherd is taking his time readjusting to life outside the house—and playfully teasing a possible shift in his career. After spending over two decades portraying the troubled yet iconic David Platt on the cobbles of Weatherfield, the 37-year-old actor has found himself in the public spotlight in a whole new way.

Jack was crowned champion of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother during the live finale on April 25, beating out a host of big personalities including runner-up and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 4 winner, Danny Beard. As the confetti fell and the crowd erupted, a stunned Jack was heard exclaiming: “Oh my God, thanks, come on, wow.” Still clearly in shock, he admitted to presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best: “I can’t believe it, I am blown away. I didn’t expect it tonight.”

Jack’s modesty was clear as he recalled how certain he was that he’d be out early. With six people in the final, he assumed he’d be fifth at best—but each name called that wasn’t his brought him closer to the win, leaving the actor floored by the result.

In his first post-win TV appearance, Jack sat down with Good Morning Britain for a candid (and comical) interview. One of the hot questions? Whether he planned to invite any of his Big Brother housemates to his upcoming wedding to fiancée Hanni Treweek. With typical dry wit, he answered: “No, I don’t think so. Come on. I’ve only known them three weeks. Got guest list (a) mile long.”

He even called out fellow contestant Chris Hughes, joking that the Love Island star had been relentlessly lobbying for an invite. “Keeps on going, ‘I’ll see you at that wedding’,” Jack said with a laugh, before bluntly adding: “I don’t think you will pal. Haven’t even told him the date.”

But the interview took an unexpectedly hilarious turn when the conversation turned toward future career plans. Having just celebrated 25 years on Coronation Street, Jack was asked whether he had any ambitions beyond the soap. Without missing a beat, he cheekily suggested that presenting might be a viable option.

The GMB hosts, Ed Balls and Susanna Reid, jumped at the opportunity and challenged him to read the next autocue on live TV. At first, Jack laughed off the idea—only to be met with serious encouragement. He then turned on the charm, adopted a polished presenter’s voice, and seamlessly introduced the next segment, before handing over to meteorologist Laura Tobin for the weather.

The moment didn’t go unnoticed. Jack later shared the clip on Instagram with a tongue-in-cheek caption: “BREAKING NEWS. Thanks for having me @gmb @itv [crying-laughing emoji].” The light-hearted jab at his surprise “audition” had fans and friends buzzing in the comments.

Co-stars and celebrities were quick to jump in with praise. Julia Goulding, who plays Jack’s on-screen wife Shona Platt, commented, “Hahahaha, mint!” Meanwhile, Emmerdale’s Danny Miller playfully added, “We’ll go one more on that.”

Viewers loved the moment too, and the comment section was filled with support. One fan said: “Brilliant. Gosh he did well. Good man Jack.” Another added: “Go Jack. That’s mint—you can do it all.” Others began calling for Jack to join the GMB team permanently, with comments like: “Jack, we need you on our tele to wake us up every day,” and “Presenting jobs loading for you, Jack!!”

It seems Jack’s post-Big Brother glow is more than just a brief spotlight moment—it may well be the beginning of a new chapter. Though deeply rooted in the world of soaps, with David Platt having evolved from teen tearaway to troubled adult over the past two and a half decades, Jack has shown his range, both as a performer and as a quick-witted, natural on camera.

Still, there’s no official word on whether he’s seriously considering a move into broadcasting. But the good-natured energy and effortless delivery he showed on GMB proved he has the charisma and presence to pull it off if he wanted to. And with his fan base only growing after his Celebrity Big Brother win, the timing couldn’t be better for new opportunities.

For now, Jack appears to be enjoying the ride—juggling a wedding, a long-standing role on Coronation Street, and the aftermath of his reality TV success. Whether he sticks to soap, steps into the world of presenting, or tries something entirely unexpected, one thing’s certain: the viewers are watching, and they’re loving every minute.
