Coronation Street fans have been left confused by Mick and Lou Michaelis’ family admission as their lives have been turned upside down in a number of dramatic episodes.

The couple arrived in Weatherfield back in Febraruay as part of a new family that were dubbed as “nightmare neighbours” who would be “shaking-up” the cobbles.

It was also revealed that Mick and Lou, played by Joe Layton and Farrel Hegarty, would also share a link with DC Kit Green, who arrived last year, with little known about him other than that he is the biological son of Bernie Winter.

It was then during Friday’s (May 16) episode of Corrie that Corrie fans got an insight into the hold Mick has over Kit. Through a series of flashback to 2007 interwoven with present day, we discovered that Mick and Kit were good friends as youngsters, with them getting up to plenty of mischief, as teens do.

However, things escalated dramatically when a shopkeeper made derogatory comments about Mick’s troubled family background. While he was willing to let it go, Kit was more emotional about the shopkeeper’s remarks and suggested that they should make a revenge plan.

With Mick’s help, he lit fireworks and pushed them through the letterbox of the store – unaware that there was someone inside. Kit was horrified when he suddenly heard screaming coming from inside, with the shopkeeper’s wife was trapped.

When the shopkeeper arrived, he was quick to blame Mick, giving Kit the opportunity to do a runner, leaving his pal to take the rap and face prison time after the victim suffered third-degree burns.

But when tempers between the pair, in the present day, unfolded on the street, DS Lisa Swain was able to step in. While Kit denied there being any deeper issues with Mick, Lisa didn’t appear convinced.

Things then got even more complicated, it transpired that Lou had cheated on Mick while he was in prison – with Kit. Back in present day, Kit wandered into Speed Daal and spotted the Lou and Mick enjoying a celebratory meal with Brody, who had just been released from the STC.

But he was stopped in his tracks, having overheard that Brody was 16, and he began to put the pieces together about his time spent with Lou, leading him to believe he could be Brody’s biological father and not Mick.

During Monday’s (May 19) Corrie, a special week of episodes kicked off, following the stories of bother Kit and Craig Tinker, and it is Kit’s comments to Mick that sparked a whole chain of events that saw Lou being assaulted by her husband, leaving her with a head wound, and Mick attacking Craig with a baseball bat, leaving him for dead.

But it was words exchanged between Mick and Lou ahead of his two attacks, in which he confronted his wife over the possibility of Brody not being his son, that some Corrie fans only realised the couple actually have three children, with their two daughters set to make their first on-screen appearance this week.

Taking to social media,@HasanHussain777 asked: “Who are Mick and Lou’s other kids??? #Corrie.” @Soap_TVuk said “When Mick and Lou talk about their girls!! #Corrie.”

@jonnymgdraws commented: “Mick and Lou having at least two daughters living with them that have never been sighted or even mentioned until now? Who’s looking after them when they’re always in the pub/Gemma’s getting trollied!? #corrie.”

@macnamara60 wrote: “Which ‘girls’ is Mick on about? Don’t think I’ve seen any yet. #Corrie.” @jonnymgdraws added: “‘And the girls? You’d uproot them would ya? WHAT GIRLS!? There’s more of this family!? #corrie.”

Meanwhile, Brody star Ryan Mulvey has also clarified who is in his on-screen family. Confirming the arrival of Brody’s two sisters who debut on Wednesday (May 21), and how that’ll change the teen, the newcomer said: “It’s so nice that I’ve got the aspect of my younger sisters who I absolutely adore and I’d do anything for them.

“I’m so protective of them just because of the missing parentals in their life. So I’ve become their dad or their carer in a way. So it’s really nice to play that softer side to Brody.

“He’s got his little sisters who he adores and they’re cheeky to him. It kind of feels like a bit of a weight off his shoulders when he’s around them, even though he’s trying to look after them.”
