Emmerdale viewers believe a former character could be making a return in a significant Robert Sugden storyline twist.
Robert (Ryan Hawley) recently made his dramatic return after an absence of six years. Viewers will remember he was imprisoned in 2019 for murdering Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), who had assaulted his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). Previously wed to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Robert’s former spouse has since remarried – this time to his half-brother, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
John – who arrived last year – is concealing numerous secrets, notably that he murdered popular villager Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and disposed of his remains in a nearby river.
However, Robert has now returned to the village permanently and taken up residence with his sister Victoria, attempting to rebuild his life, reports Belfast Live.
Convinced that John is concealing something sinister, Robert is also intent on unmasking the secret murderer whilst attempting to rekindle his romance with former partner Aaron. Yet now, viewers are certain someone from Robert’s history is set to return and leave him stunned.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, supporters have speculated about the comeback of Seb, the young son of Robert and Rebecca (Emily Head).
“I think Seb will be returning soon. I’m guessing this might be why they killed Rebecca, so that Robert could have custody of him and bring him back to the village,” the fan said.
Others chimed in with their thoughts: “You could be into something! It will be interesting to see how that goes down with Robert, Ross and Aaron who all have a connection to the little boy.”
Another person added: “Yeah he should be back seeing as Robert has returned.”
Seb was welcomed into the world in 2017, and by 2018, he had relocated to Liverpool with his mother Rebecca and her partner Ross Barton, played by Michael Parr.
Fast forward to 2024, following Ross’s return to the show, viewers learned of Rebecca’s tragic passing due to complications from surgery. This turn of events led to Seb moving to Bristol to live with Rebecca’s aunt.
