EastEnders is set to air worrying scenes for Lily Slater (played by Lillia Turner) next week after Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) takes a break from Walford following her break-up.
Last week, Jean’s world fell apart when Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) revealed that Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) had been having an affair with Kathy (Gillian Taylforth). The revelation came while Jean and Harvey were celebrating their engagement at The Queen Vic, leaving partygoers open-mouthed.
Despite Jean’s attempts to get Harvey to stay for “the kids”, it was clear his heart was with Kathy as he packed up his belongings and headed to the Beale household, leaving Jean devastated as she looked on.
In forthcoming scenes, the fallout between Harvey, Kathy and the Slaters will continue as Jean and Mo (Laila Morse) leave Walford to take a break.
With Jean away, Lily and Freddie (Bobby Brazier) are trying to run the Slater house alone as Stacey (Stacey Slater) still refuses to leave her bedroom while she mourns the death of Martin Fowler (James Bye).
The strain is taking its toll on teen mum Lily, who is skipping school to do house chores, but she lies to Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) to cover up the truth.
However, after Freddie tells Kat how bad the situation at home has gotten and asks her to help, but when she arrives at the house, Kat is left worried after making a discovery.
She tries to take control of the Slaters and calls a family meeting with Alfie (Shane Richie), Eve, and Suki. They agree to share childcare, but they worry that struggling Stacey might need professional help, who dismisses needing any support.
Lily is heartbroken and breaks down when she realises that her mum, Stacey, isn’t coming out of her bedroom anytime soon.
But later in the week, Stacey decides to leave her home for the first time in days and invites the family around for a meal. The invitation leaves Kat concerned that Stacey is doing too much too soon.
While Stacey forces her family gathering, she is soon left side-tracked when she realises that her coat and mobile phone have accidentally fallen into the laundry bag, and Freddie has taken it to be washed.
She frantically explains that the mobile contains voicemails, photos, and texts from Martin, and they’ll be lost forever if the phone is damaged.
As she races off to rescue the phone, Alfie is shaken when Stacey’s young son Arthur tells him a secret, but what does he reveal?
Kat and Lily try to calm Stacey as they fear she’s experiencing a bipolar episode; however, when Alfie shares Arthur’s intel, an incident between Stacey and Lily leaves their relationship at breaking point.
Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) tries to step and has meaningful conversations with Stacey, and later Lily. Will the Slater’s be able to cope without Jean, and with Stacey’s state of mind?
