The actor has been up to something with his Moira Dingle co-star

Emmerdale actor Ash Palmisciano teased fans as he filmed “something different” with co-star Natalie J Robb.

Ash Palmisciano joined Emmerdale in 2018 as Matty Barton and made history by playing the first transgender character in the soap. Since then, he started a relationship with Kerry’s once-estranged daughter Amy Wyatt.

Unfortunately, Amy departed the show earlier this year after she was killed in the Valentine’s limo crash.

She was the third tragedy after Suzy Merton and Leyla Harding. Amy made it out of the limo, but when walking over the frozen lake she was plunged into the freezing cold water.

Matty married Amy on the show in 2024 who got engaged the year before while the pair were at The Woolpack pub. Amy proposed but Matty was originally concerned she only did so to strengthen her custody case for Kyle.

However, the pair soon worked out any differences and were happy right up until her death – with plans to adopt another child also.

Taking to his Instagram, Ash posted a video from behind the scenes and wrote: “Fun little morning doing something different with my soap queen @nataliejrobbofficial”.

Natalie J Robb plays Moira Dingle, Matty’s mother. At the moment, Moira is embroiled in a war to keep her farmland away from the hands of Kim Tate and Joe Tate who want to add to their financial prosperity.

She found herself in a spot of trouble with the police after she went round to Home Farm to confront Joe Tate, but accidentally hit Lydia Dingle in the ear.

Moira was convinced that Joe arranged for two masked youths to break into her barn, but viewers now know that returning Dylan Penders was one of the masked individuals.

Now, Cain Dingle and Sam Dingle are at war after Sam pledged his loyalty to the Tate’s – a low blow for Cain as the families have always been at war.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, actress Natalie shared how she would feel if Moira did have to move away from the farm.

She said: “Of course she would miss it. I mean, my character’s been there now 16 years, and it would be very odd for it to be a change. I’m kind of hoping that some good comes from it, because often with clarity in things like this maybe ideas can come into plan or she’ll get some kind of help.

“I would miss it, because it’s a really good set to work on as well, so I would personally miss it. I’m not sure what else she’d (Moira) do.”
