Emmerdale’s John Sugden caught out over two more crimes in early ITVX episode

Emmerdale reveals more bad news for John Sugden tonight as his brother Robert continues to dig into his suspicious past.

John thinks he has the upper hand after successfully framing the late Owen Michaels for Nate Robinson’s murder, but he seems to have underestimated Robert’s fierce desire to expose the truth.

Monday’s episode sees Robert ask all the right questions as he chats to Jacob Gallagher and Eric Pollard in two separate conversations.

During an early morning visit to the local shop, Robert passes the time of day with Jacob and learns all about the near-death experience he suffered back in April.

At the time, Jacob’s nut allergy was triggered when John deliberately switched two coffees at work. This gave John another opportunity to play the hero by bringing Jacob back from the brink.

Jacob is full of praise for the way John handled the situation, but Robert can’t help feeling that everything wasn’t as it seemed.

As the mix-up with the two coffees was never explained at the time, nor the mysterious disappearance of Jacob’s life-saving AAI pen, there are plenty of suspicious moments that stand out to Robert.

Later, popping into the shop for a second time, Robert speaks to Eric about the situation and discovers that John was also conveniently present for a separate incident with Chas Dingle.

In March, Chas collapsed at The Woolpack after John had secretly tampered with medication she was taking following her involvement in the limo crash. John soon stepped in to “rescue” Chas, hoping to win her favour after early tensions between them.

Once again, Robert can tell that it’s all too good to be true – but will he ever be able to prove it?

Emmerdale airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm on ITV1, or the episode is streaming now on ITVX and YouTube.
