Emmerdale‘s Joe Tate is set for another terrifying showdown with the evil Dr Crowley.
The sinister surgeon returned to our screens last week when he was revealed to be Kim Tate’s new man ‘Eddie’. Viewers previously met Crowley when he helped to perform an illegal kidney transplant on Joe, which unwittingly involved Caleb Miligan.
This week, Crowley put his dark talents to use again by kidnapping Joe and paralysing him from the neck down. He explained that his medical career had been ruined and was now facing a mountain of debt – which Joe had to pay off.
Joe initially refused to hand over all of his savings but finally agreed when Crowley threatened to remove his kidney. But it seems the surgeon wasn’t satisfied with Joe’s cash and will soon be setting his sights on Kim’s fortune, too.
In upcoming scenes, Kim happily continues her new romance with ‘Eddie’, unaware of his dark scheme to steal her money. However, Joe is determined to stop Crowley’s plan and arranges a secret chat with the villain.
When Crowley arrives at their meeting place, he is greeted by the barrel of a gun. But will Joe’s scare tactics work or has he landed himself in even bigger trouble?
Speaking to Digital Spy, Claire King, who plays Kim, addressed whether Crowley could actually get his hands on her character’s fortune.
“He’s very bad and very nasty and he will go to any lengths to get Kim’s money – and he kind of does,” she said, before adding: “But there’s always a twist…”
“The minute Kim finds out, it’ll be more than his back he needs to watch out for! I mean that,” she teased.
