Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy was dashed to hospital after she’d suffered a nasty injury on set.
The British actress – who plays Laurel Thomas on the ITV soap – admitted to Lorraine Kelly that she’d been raced to A&E while filming. At the time of the accident, her character had been “making a Bolognese” with a “blunt knife” when the blade slipped.
Charlotte recalled chopping “the top of her finger off” and was dashed to see medics while wearing a fake baby bump. Her character Laurel had been pregnant which seemed to cause concern at the hospital after doctors had not yet realised her blossoming child wasn’t real.

During her hospital visit, Charlotte recalled having to explain the unlikely turn of events after the experts expressed worry for her baby – who obviously wasn’t real. Kicking off the gossip, TV host Lorraine asked the soap star: “Did you not end up in A&E? Tell me what happened with that? You had a bump?”
“This is something that happened on set years ago,” explained Charlotte before adding: “During filming, I was making a Bolognese, as you do, with a very blunt knife and I’m chopping and on the take, I chop the top of my finger off.”

She went on to reveal: “At the time, I was pretend pregnant as Laurel so I had to get rushed into A&E with the prop man and with my pretend bump. They were so confused and they were more worried about my baby but obviously, my baby wasn’t real, and nor was my husband.”
Chuckling at the ordeal, Lorraine joked: “And then you have to go, that’s not my husband and the baby isn’t real but I have actually chopped the top of my finger off with a knife while making Bolognese for a show… and they go ‘ahh ok’, it’s bonkers, isn’t it?”

Elsewhere during the discussion with the Scottish host, Charlotte explained that her soap character Laurel is expected to collapse on Tuesday’s (July 3rd) episode.
Official ITV soap spoilers have already revealed that Laurel is set to face a horrifying ordeal after her spouse, Jai Sharma, played by Chris Bisson, finds himself unable to reveal the truth to his half-brother Suni Sharma.
They end up in a war of words, with Jai crossing a major line and mentioning her late husband Ashley during the heated argument. After their disagreement, Laurel collapses on the floor and is seemingly unable to reach her ringing phone, to fetch for help.
