She’s facing a hefty fine after the slurry tank at Butler’s Farm leaked into the village’s water supply – something her brother Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) wrongly believes is down to him.
Viewers know it was really secret murderer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who caused the issue, but nevertheless, it’s still Moira’s problem.
Meanwhile, having agreed to sell late grandmother Annie Sugden’s (Sheila Mercier) land behind Moira’s back, Robert (Ryan Hawley) went back on his word to Kim Tate (Claire King).
Robert revealed his idea to go into sustainable farming, only to be threatened by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Kim is set on village domination, and left for Dubai with Joe in charge of the next step – buying Moira’s farm.
When Noel from the water company visited Moira, telling her that her appeal has been rejected and her fine increased, she feared that she’ll lose her home.
Hearing that Moira’s situation has worsened, Joe reiterated Kim’s offer to buy Butler’s.
Knowing she may have little choice, Moira had to seriously consider taking the deal, and she broke down in tears at the prospect.
In the aftermath, Moira’s husband Cain (Jeff Hordley) will promise to stand by her whatever choice she makes – but what will Moira do?
And can Joe force Robert’s hand and get his hands on Annie’s field for Kim?
Robert has other things on his mind as he investigates the murder ‘confession’ left behind by Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) – rightly suspecting it’s John’s doing.
