EastEnders baby row to destroy Suki and Eve as iPlayer episode teases trouble

EastEnders spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (28 July), which is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer but hasn’t yet aired on BBC One.

EastEnders has hinted that Suki Panesar-Unwin and her wife Eve could be torn apart by Avani Nandra-Hart’s secret pregnancy.

The show foreshadows trouble ahead in Monday’s episode, as Avani unsubtly questions Eve on how she’d feel about raising a baby.

When Suki recently discovered that her granddaughter is expecting Joel Marshall’s child, she urged Avani not to have a termination.

Suki put pressure on Avani to keep the baby, even offering to step in to take care of the child.

In the latest visit to the Square, Avani becomes suspicious over Suki’s motives. She also points out that Suki hasn’t even discussed her intentions with Eve, which doesn’t bode well for anyone.

Rushing over to the bap van, where Eve is busy at work, Avani spies her chance to get some answers. Lauren Branning is at the van with her newborn son Jimmy, providing an easy way for Avani to turn the conversation to babies.

When Avani asks Eve whether she’d like kids, Eve replies: “Are you joking? I can’t even get myself dressed in the morning!

“I hate to break it to you, kid, but that ship has well and truly sailed. No, I’m happy with our blended family.”

As Avani walks off, satisfied that she’s made her point, Eve adds: “Is she for real?”

Later, once alone with Suki again, Avani tries to shut down the baby conversation once and for all as she believes that it’s a non-starter.

Suki refuses to back down, though, claiming that they can iron out any issues that arise.

“It’s not going to be easy, alright?” Suki tells Avani. “But if it means this baby has a chance, then it’s worth it, isn’t it?”

Avani replies: “Yeah, it is worth it. But you only want this baby to make up for losing all your own children. You’re not thinking about what’s best for me, you’re only thinking about yourself and you’re not used to hearing ‘no’ for an answer.”
