Double life! Emmerdale’s Dylan deceives April in dark new story

Emmerdale’s Dylan Penders is eaten up by guilt next week, as he continues to run drugs for newcomer Ray and lie to April Windsor about it.

With April excited to spend more time with her boyfriend, she’s hopeful they can start afresh, and stay away from drugs and dealers.

Little does she know, Dylan broke his promise and is still running bags of the stuff for Ray in secret…

“April wants Dylan as far away from Ray as possible,” our Emmerdale source explains.

“She doesn’t want him bringing any trouble to the village now she’s trying to get her life back on track. But Dylan is trapped under Ray’s orders, and he doesn’t know how to break free.”

In his efforts to go straight, Dylan begins looking for work in the village. But when he receives a knock back during a job search, he tries to paint on a brave face for April’s sake. However, temptation strikes when his phone rings and it’s Ray calling with an offer of easy money…

April makes plans to return to school and get her GCSEs when her apprenticeship at Take A Vow is delayed, with Dylan encouraging her new outlook. But beneath his smile lurks a growing guilt, as Ray manipulates him into another job running drugs.

Will he manage to keep April out of this dark world? Or will she become Ray’s next target?

“I think Dylan wants to protect April. It’s a weird contrast – Dylan knows he’s doing the wrong thing, but at the end of the day, it’s better than what he was doing before,” Fred Kettle, who plays Dylan, recently told us.

“Dylan wanted to take himself out of situations where he knew he’d start taking drugs again himself. It was Ray that actually helped him. He took Dylan under his wing and helped him get away from using drugs.

“I feel like there’s a little bit of a son/father figure relationship going on – so Ray can gain trust to make Dylan deal drugs, basically.”

He added: “Ray is manipulating Dylan. Dylan knows he’s doing the wrong thing, but it’s more morally correct than what he was doing when he was back on the streets.”
