Coronation Street is set for more drama next week as Jenny Connor faces an emotional rollercoaster. The former Rovers Return landlady is left humiliated when she misreads a situation involving undertaker George Shuttlworth, only to discover shocking news about a death linked to her past.
Jenny’s Crush on George
Since stepping away from her role at the Rovers, Jenny has been adjusting to life working at The Kabin. Recently, she found herself developing a soft spot for George after he kindly came to her rescue, fixing a leaky pipe.
George’s kind nature clearly struck a chord with Jenny, but her fondness soon turns to concern. She worries he may be too trusting of women he meets online. Despite Glenda’s reassurance, Jenny’s doubts intensify when an unexpected figure returns to Weatherfield.
Christina Boyd Returns to the Street
Jenny and Glenda are taken aback when Christina Boyd, Daisy Midgeley’s mother, walks into the pub asking after George. Christina is no stranger to trouble. Fans will remember her previous scheme with Daisy to con Jenny out of money, only for the plan to collapse when Daisy betrayed her.
At the time, Christina left Weatherfield in disgrace, but her comeback had been hinted at earlier this year. A source teased that Christina’s downfall wasn’t the end of her scheming nature, saying: “The scam to fleece Jenny might have gone off the rails, but Christina is biding her time before she crawls out of the woodwork to create more mischief.”
A Shocking Death Revealed
Jenny is immediately suspicious of Christina’s motives and fears she is targeting George romantically. However, Christina shocks both Jenny and Glenda when she reveals why she is back. She explains that Dom, Jenny’s former catfisher, has died, and she is meeting George for professional reasons to arrange the funeral.
Despite the explanation, Jenny remains doubtful. She vents to Glenda and Brian Packham, insisting Christina is once again playing games and could be trying to manipulate George.
Jenny’s Wrong Assumption
Determined to protect George, Jenny grows convinced that Christina is lying. After a chat with Steve McDonald, she becomes certain that Christina is catfishing George and fabricating Dom’s death to get close to him.
Her suspicion pushes her into action. Jenny storms into the undertakers, accusing Christina of trying to scam George out of money. She declares that Dom is not really dead and that Christina is only spinning a story for her own gain.
The truth, however, couldn’t be more different. A first-look spoiler clip shows Jenny arriving to find George and Christina together. Convinced she has caught them on a date, she panics that George is being fooled.
But Jenny is left red-faced when she realises Christina’s meeting with George is strictly professional. Far from a romantic dinner, they are in fact discussing plans for Dom’s funeral.
More Trouble Ahead?
Jenny’s embarrassment may not be the end of the matter. With Christina back in Weatherfield, questions remain over her true intentions. Is she genuinely returning to make amends, or does she have another scheme up her sleeve?
Either way, Jenny’s instincts about Christina being “up to no good” may not be completely unfounded. And with George caught in the middle, the drama is only just beginning.
