Coronation Street actress Georgia Taylor, known for playing the character of Toyah Battersby on the soap opera, has shared that she has recently visited Wales.
On Instagram, the star shared snaps of her holiday with her family, in which they embarked on a trip up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) before enjoying a meal at the popular Anglesey restaurant The Oystercatcher. But during their trek up the highest peak in Wales, the actress and her family found that they were being affected by the elements, which she described as “grim”.
Firstly, the star shared a group selfie of her and her loved ones with a caption: “Team Snowdon.”
In another snap on her Instagram story, the soap opera actress shared another group selfie, but this time on the top of Yr Wyddfa in seemingly blustery and murky weather. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.
“After we’d taken an absolute battering by the weather,” the caption read. Georgia then shared another photo of the conditions on top of the mountain, which was barely visible due to the mist. “Grim,” she captioned the photo.
Luckily, the star and her family later made it to the bottom of the mountain and headed to a restaurant. In another group photo, the star was sat around a dinner table at The Oystercatcher in Rhosneigr in south-west of Ynys Mon.
Later on, the actress shared a post with the same photos of her holiday in Wales. The caption read: “A jam packed 48 hours in Rhosneigr! Featuring a treacherous climb up Snowdon (the weather during the ascent was not on our side!), my amazing brother and wonderful in-laws, lots of laughs, stunning seafood spaghetti and my new favourite socks.”
The actress is best known for playing Toyah Habeeb – nee Battersby – in the ITV soap. She first arrived on the cobbles at just 17 years old, back in 1997, along with Janice and Les Battersby and Les’s daughter Leanne.
Their arrival on the famous street came after it was announced the “family from hell” were to be introduced to the hit soap to stir up some trouble in Weatherfield.
Toyah later left the Street in 2003 after finding out that her boyfriend John Arnley had cheated on her with her best friend Maria Sutherland, leading Georgia to take on a few other acting roles.
Then, in September 2016 after a 13-year absence, Toyah’s comeback to the cobbles was announced and she made an explosive return at Christmas when it was revealed that she had left her husband of five years Toby Chapman for Peter Barlow, Leanne’s ex-husband.
The rest, as they say, is history and Toyah has had a rollercoaster nine years back on the cobbles, with Toyah most recently betraying her sister and having an affair with her partner, Nick Tilsley, with the pair now in a relationship and running the Bistro.
