A Star on the Rise
Charlotte Tyree, the newest addition to Coronation Street, has been receiving an outpouring of support from fans and fellow actors alike, including former soap star Michelle Keegan. Charlotte plays Sienna, a paramedic supervising trainee Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), and has quickly made her presence felt on the iconic cobbles of Weatherfield.
Fans have been following the tense and emotional developments of Asha’s training, which recently culminated in a dramatic and harrowing episode that left viewers on the edge of their seats.
A Shift from Hell
In the special episode aired August 25, Asha’s day spiraled into chaos. Her trainee shift included confronting a death, attending to an injured elderly resident, and surviving a racist attack. The stress of the shift left her panic-stricken, culminating in a crippling attack in the Rovers’ backyard.
While the first half of the episode highlighted her twin brother, Aadi Alahan, preparing for a farewell trip to India, it was clear Asha was hiding her true feelings about his departure. The emotional weight of these events compounded the pressure she faced on her challenging shift, giving audiences a clear understanding of her vulnerability.
Charlotte’s Role as Sienna
Charlotte Tyree’s character, Sienna, is central to this storyline. Initially supportive, Sienna struggles with Asha’s erratic behavior, which includes lashing out at Brody Michaelis in Speed Daal and skipping work after personal turmoil.
Behind the scenes, Charlotte has shared glimpses of her experience on the cobbles, posting pictures from the dressing room, outside the Rovers, and in the ambulance alongside Tanisha Gorey. She captioned one post:
“Shift on … Sienna’s in. Having a tremendous time on The Cobbles so far! Everyone at @coronationstreet has made it so welcoming and a truly wonderful experience for me. Being a Northern Lass and stepping on to the iconic street feels incredibly special.”
Fellow Stars Show Support
Tanisha Gorey responded enthusiastically in the comments: “The best partner evurrrrr.” Other Coronation Street co-stars joined the chorus of support. Vicky Myers (DS Lisa Swain) wrote: “Absolutely chuffed to bits for you,” while Sydney Martin (Betsy Swain) added: “Smashing it!!!”
Even former star Michelle Keegan, who played Tina McIntyre from 2008 to 2014, chimed in with encouragement: “Go on girl.”
