Casualty viewers were left all saying the same thing as new paramedic Indie Jankowski arrived on the medical drama.

Casualty fans were all cheers for Indie Jankowski (portrayed by Naomi Wakszlak) as the fresh-faced student paramedic made her mark in Saturday’s episode of the BBC’s beloved medical series.

Viewers might recall Indie from a festive episode where she initially clashed with Jan (Di Botcher) during her training stint. But after being spurred on by an uplifting talk from Jan, the determined trainee insisted on doing her placement at Holby, and her wish was granted.

In the latest episode (January 11), Indie kicked off her placement and was thrown into a nightmare shift. Amidst the chaos of a drive-by shooting, Indie tended to a casualty who was secretly armed.

With quick-witted action, she persuaded the injured man to surrender his firearm, warning that he risked losing his leg if he didn’t get to hospital pronto, reports Wales Online.

However, the drama escalated when Indie, tracing a trail of blood, stumbled upon a young lad with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest, and she fought valiantly to save him.

The intensity of the situation overwhelmed Indie, leaving her frozen and unable to give medication until Jan stepped in. Later, the boy’s mother embraced Indie, thanking her for saving her son’s life after the harrowing ordeal.
