Bradley Walsh and his son Barney have whipped fans into a frenzy with their latest social media post, announcing a major career move.

The pair excitedly disclosed that the beloved BBC series, Gladiators, is set for a third season renewal, along with an all-new celebrity special.

They’re gearing up to head back to the Sheffield arena to shoot 11 fresh episodes, including the star-studded special.

Set to hit the BBC screens in 2026, the announcement declared: “Get ready to feel the power again! Gladiators will return for a brand-new series and Celebrity Special in 2026.”

Fans were quick to express their elation in the comments section, with kaiteyblair posting: “Brilliant news. One of the very best things about Saturday nights.”

The superhero line-up, featuring Apollo, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone, Diamond, Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury, Giant, Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel, and Viper, is anticipated to make a comeback in the arena.


Nitro, unfortunately, had to pause his participation in the second season due to a knee injury sustained during training.

The synopsis enthuses the contest is set to be fiercer than ever with fresh events and another quartet of plucky celebs ready to undergo TV’s most gruelling challenge, all in a bid to showcase their mettle and triumph.

Dan Baldwin, managing director at Hungry Bear Media, remarked: “We have been absolutely blown away by the reception Gladiators has received from families up and down the country.

“It has become a HUGE part of Saturday night viewing on the BBC. We are extremely excited to deliver another series, so expect even more spandex, hairspray, protein shakes and fake tan this summer in Sheffield!”.
