If there’s one thing we know about Bold & Beautiful, it’s that the show ain’t subtle. If someone planning a picnic spends two days talking about how gorgeous the weather is going to be, you know their plans will get rained out. So as Luna was going around shooting people and whining about her daddy issues, there was one particular moment which told us exactly what to expect in the coming weeks.

It all started with Sheila and Luna struggling over the gun at the end of Monday’s episode. A shot rang out and… fade to black. It was a classic cliffhanger. When Tuesday’s episode began, we quickly discovered that Sheila’d been the one to eat lead (figuratively speaking). The injury was not, however, life-threatening. In fact, Luna even mocked her latest victim’s wound. “You got shot in the foot, grandma,” she scoffed. “It’s not like you’re going to die.”

And indeed, as evidenced by the shot above, that’s exactly what happened.

Now, stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but Sheila is already one toe shy of a foot. You’ll recall she lopped one off in an effort to convince everyone that she was really, most sincerely dead. (Let’s not dwell too much on how completely insane an act that was, let alone that the formerly nutty nurse has since been morphed into one of the show’s leading ladies.)

Eventually, of course, everyone found out that Sheila hadn’t actually been eaten by a bear. In fact, her missing digit became something of a recurring joke, especially with hubby Deacon. Heck, they even served edible toes at their home and restaurant last Halloween!

So it seems safe to say that shortly, we’ll have folks cracking jokes about the fact that she’s now down two toes. Perhaps she’ll be referred to as the eight-toed wonder or quip about how difficult it is to find comfortable shoes.

Mark our words, the jokes are coming. Because this is Bold & Beautiful and that’s just the way they roll. And maybe that’s a good thing, because Luna’s reign of terror and Liam’s brain tumor/shooting will give us plenty of heavy emotions to deal with. As Dolly Parton’s character said in the movie Steel Magnolias, laughter through tears is our favorite emotion!
