On TV, Barney slips into the shoes of Cameron Mickelthwaite, an accident-prone character, debuting during the 37th season of Casualty that aired in 2023.

He added, “It’s a real joy to come to work every day and play Cam. I can’t wait for the viewers to meet nurse Cam as he arrives at Holby and very quickly realises he might have bitten off more than he can chew!”

Barney is no stranger to the screen as his acting journey began back in 2013 with a stint on Law and Order: UK.

Since that time, he’s appeared in Doctors, Death in Paradise, and portrayed PC Harness in ITV’s The Larkins, a modern take on The Darling Buds of May, featuring his father, Bradley Walsh, as Pop Larkin.

Beyond acting, Barney has ventured into television presenting. He co-presents the BBC’s refreshed version of Gladiators with his dad and joins him in the hit ITV travel show Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad, which has just completed its sixth series.

Reflecting on their father-son relationship, Bradley once remarked on ITV’s ‘This Morning’: “He has always been my son, and you always take care of them.

“But then all of a sudden he becomes your equal and a work colleague, and a mate, and someone you respect.”
