Upcoming EastEnders episodes tease turmoil for Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Peter Beale’s (Thomas Law) as their short-lived baby Joy turns into heartbreak.

EastEnders fans have watched the couple’s fractured love story for years – from the two being teen sweethearts, their journey to becoming a family has been anything but conventional.

After welcoming baby boy Jimmy, just a few weeks ago, the pair have faced more turbulence than ever, finding out their newborn’s sight is impaired.

But, in a time where they should be a team, the cracks are showing, and their relationship is crumbling after a shocking discovery.

Could this really be the end of Lauren and Peter?

As Peter struggles to come to terms with Jimmy’s diagnosis, he feels unable to bond with him but attempts to with support from Cindy.

Lauren is overwhelmed as she’s bombarded by well-wishers in the Square and begs Peter to join her, but he continues to dismiss her pleas.

Cindy and Kathy join forces in an attempt to help the struggling couple, but things spiral as Peter admits he blames Lauren and her addiction for Jimmy’s health.

Lauren, stunned and devastated, heads to The Vic and Harry’s Barn, desperate for a drink, but is refused by both Linda and Gina, refusing to let her relapse.

Cindy helps Peter with Jimmy, as Lauren is a no-show after staying out all evening.

Later, Lauren finds Peter in the café and wants to explain herself, but Peter won’t hear it and decides to take Jimmy to his doctor’s appointment alone.

Lauren, who’s left upset in the café, has a heart-to-heart with Honey about Jimmy’s diagnosis.

While at the hospital, Peter has an encounter with a fellow patient who inspires him, and he returns home full of hope, although it’s short-lived, as he and Lauren quickly come to blows as Peter discovers she almost relapsed.

Peter is at his wits’ end and breaks up with Lauren and insists he is going to fight for custody of their sons.

Cindy encourages the couple to forgive each other and give it another go, but as they put their differences aside, Peter can’t shake the idea that Lauren is hiding something. He heads to The Vic to ask Johnny about custody advice, however, Honey overhears and informs Lauren, who officially ends things with Peter.

Will leaving Peter cause Lauren to spiral and relapse? Or will the couple be able to make amends for the sake of their child?
