EastEnders confirms almighty Zoe twist in early BBC iPlayer release as the truth is out

This article contains spoilers for tonight’s episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer.

The truth is out! Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) big secret about Zoe (Michelle Ryan) has been revealed to a member of their family.

Surely it can’t be long before Kat (Jessie Wallace) finds out.

The pair have gone to extreme lengths to keep quiet about her sudden reappearance and Alfie’s subsequent plight to track her down.

As viewers know, Alfie was summoned to Stacey’s flat where Zoe, clearly in a bad way, was staying.

When he arrived, she had fabricated an elaborate story, saying that Spanish loansharks were hunting her down and she needed cash quick.

Zoe then fled to Barcelona, asserting that she’d done something ‘so bad’ that her family would disown her.’

What does Kat know in EastEnders?

So far she’s been kept in the dark about everything, and has been told a multitude of lies from her nearest and dearest.

Alfie decided to follow Zoe – telling his suspicious wife that he was actually going to stay with brother Spencer (Christopher Parker) in Australia.

Kat became infuriated when the lies began to unravel, and Stacey was forced to create yet another lie. She said that Alfie was in a bad headspace after another cancer scare.

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) later assumed that he was actually helping out his estranged daughter Cherry, something which Kat then believed.

Alfie, believing his game was up, recorded a tell-all voicemail message after one too many beers and sent it to Kat.

What became of the voicemail?

Just as Kat began to listen in, a mugger (one of Okie’s (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) cronies) snatched the device and drove off.

In today’s episode, the phone resurfaced.

Joel Marshall (Max Murray) was seen watching videos from a vile influencer, who spouts mysoginistic ideologies to his vulnerable followers. The social media star announced his first ever live show – but there was a catch, as tickets cost £90.

Desperate for money, Joel turned to dad Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) and later Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) for the money, but he was quickly brushed off.

Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) overheard, and offered him a secret side hustle that would earn him the cash.

He’d been instructed by Okie to wipe the stolen phones before selling them on, and the job needed completing before the end of the day.

Joel was more than happy to take on the work, and roped Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) into helping. As the teens raided the bag of phones, Kat’s was spotted.

Tommy saw that there was an unread voicemail, and listened in, shocked at what he heard.

But what will he do with the information?
