Coronation Street split ‘sealed’ as Sally Carman says ‘going to miss him’

Coronation Street’s Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, has opened up about her character’s current storyline that sees her embarking on an affair with her brother-in-law Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).

In the popular ITV soap opera, Abi is married to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), but after recently crossing paths with Carl, there was an undeniable spark between them, leading to Abi developing feelings for her brother-in-law.

This affair has left Abi in a state of confusion about her future with Kevin. Recent episodes have shown her admitting that while she holds deep affection for her husband, she’s no longer in love with him.

Sally revealed that this storyline has been “really tough” as it seems increasingly likely that Abi and Kevin are heading towards a split, which means she won’t be working as closely with co-star Michael.

Chatting with Digital Spy, Sally shared: “This storyline – as brilliant as it is and I am loving it – does mean that potentially I might have to work less with Mike Le Vell, who plays Kev Webster, in the future.

“That has been really tough because I feel like we’re married! We’re ‘work wife, work husband’ – we have that relationship and he’s got my heart forever.”

She further confessed that she’ll “miss working with him” as he’s a “dream” to act with and she has grown to “adore him” over the years, reports Leicestershire Live.

Sally anticipates that Abi’s bond with Carl could lead to “disaster,” adding, “I don’t think it would be wise for Abi to totally trust Carl in any capacity whatsoever.”

The soap star hinted at “fireworks” for Abi as Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has discovered her affair, which can only spell trouble.

In recent episodes, Carl and Tracy went out for drinks, where she suspected that he had fallen for Abi. He tried to mislead her by claiming he was visiting an ex in Wales.

However, Tracy continued to be suspicious of the pair, and her suspicions were confirmed when she saw them getting cosy through a window.

It’s yet to be seen what Tracy will do with this information, but it seems unlikely she’ll let it slide.
