Coronation Street has recast one character for the second time in the space of a year.
The Sun has reported that Sarah Platt’s son Harry, who was born after Sarah’s fling with bad boy Callum Logan (who died shortly after), will be played by an actor named Josh going forward.
His first scenes will be shown on screen in the coming weeks.
Harry’s current actor, Carter J Murphy, only made his on-screen debut in December. At the time, David Platt actor Jack P Shepherd called him “very, very confident”.
The reason for his departure is due to him landing a role in Matilda the Musical.
Between 2017 and last December, Harry was played by twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes.
Not only is it common practice for twins to play babies and young children, but it’s quite common to recast them as they grow up as well.
Overall, this makes Josh the fourth person to play Harry in eight years, which is similar to young Peter Barlow across the 1970s.
Elsewhere in Coronation Street, we’ve known that Aadi Alahan would be leaving the cobbles this year, as actor Adam Hussain confirmed his decision back in April.
Following recent storylines, where Aadi has made some huge personal and professional mistakes, his final scenes will air imminently.
Meanwhile, Catherine Tyldesley will be back on screen as her character Eva Price very soon, and she’s not alone.
The former barmaid will be taking over as landlady of the Rovers, and she’ll be bringing her new fella Ben, plus her daughter Susie, Ben’s two kids, and his mother, along with her.
