Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is a huge threat to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in Emmerdale and he knows he need to get rid.
John is on a mission to discredit Robert to everyone around him because Robert has been getting dangerously close to discovering the truth about John’s killer tendencies.
Robert has already twigged that there’s something iffy going on with the amount of lives John has apparently saved.
And Robert is close to cracking the case of Owen – the man found dead with a suicide note claiming that he killed Nate. He knows it was John, he just doesn’t fully know he knows.

John spies another opportunity
John has been manipulating and gaslighting Robert and those around them to protect himself, but now he finds a way to truly destroy Robert, and there’s no need for needles, spanners, or fake suicide notes.
John hits him where it hurts through Harry.
Robert has been working hard to get things with his family back on track and has tried to be the doting uncle since his return. He’s helped Vic out with childcare, had a kick about with Harry, made him breakfast. Wholesome.
That, as John identifies, is his weak spot.
Vic (Isabel Hodgins) persuades Robert to spend some more time with Harry and it goes swimmingly. That is until he takes him to the café where he finds Aaron (Danny Miller). John finds him chatting to Aaron, and all is suddenly very much not ok.
John’s blood instantly boils, and he comes up with his new plan. With Robert busy, John spends some time with Harry, putting thoughts in his head.

His plan is put into action when Robert takes Harry home and Harry decides to start drumming. The kid won’t quit, and Robert’s patience only go so far. When he hits his limit, he unleashes fury on the child. Who should walk in at that exact moment? Uncle John.
John smirks as Harry runs straight to him for comfort and Robert is left feeling crushed. On returning home, John can’t want to tell Aaron what an idiot Robert is, and it looks like he’s truly found his weak spot.
Once it gets out that he’s now also aggressive towards children on top of everything else, Robert is cooked.
Has John found a way to destroy Robert’s reputation once and for all?
