Emmerdale has added a ticking soap timebomb to Charity Dingle’s big storyline – her secret kiss with Vanessa Woodfield will be staying under wraps for now.
The former couple come to an understanding in Friday’s episode, deciding to keep Charity’s husband Mackenzie Boyd in the dark over how he’s been betrayed.
Last night’s episode saw Charity make a move on Vanessa, after an argument with Mack over the surrogacy agreement she’d made with her granddaughter Sarah.
As the aftermath plays out in this evening’s episode, Vanessa shocks Charity by warning that she won’t lie to Mack over what happened between them.
Knowing exactly how it feels to be cheated on by Charity, no-nonsense Vanessa advises that honesty is the best policy.
Back home, Charity avoids her big chance to confess to Mack over what took place the night before.
The couple begin to sort out their differences, which gives Charity hope for the future and scares her off from mentioning Vanessa at all…
Later, when Vanessa comes calling at Jacob’s Fold and interrupts the couple, she subtly lets Charity know that she’s now willing to keep the secret after all.
Infidelity never stays buried for long in Emmerdale, though, so it’s surely only a matter of time before this secret comes back to haunt Charity and Vanessa…
Spoilers for next week’s episodes have revealed that Charity will soon be confirmed to be pregnant as a surrogate for Sarah.
This follows a second embryo transfer, which is supported by Mack. But are happier times really ahead for the family?
