EastEnders to resolve Alfie voicemail cliffhanger in very unexpected way

EastEnders has confirmed that Alfie Moon’s shocking voicemail dilemma will be resolved soon after his return to Walford next week.

As Kat took over The Vic in this week’s episodes, she discovered that her husband’s secret trip away wasn’t to clear his head following a cancer scare.

Stacey was forced to tell her that Alfie is helping to get Hayley and his daughter Cherry out of trouble – though viewers know that he has in fact been attempting to track down Kat’s daughter Zoe in Spain.

Stacey left a panicked message for Alfie, telling him that Kat knows they lied to her. But Alfie got the wrong end of the stick and recorded a drunken voicemail for his wife, apologising for his deception and explaining the truth about Zoe.

Next week, Alfie returns to Walford after over a month away – and he immediately gets a huge shock when he finds out that Kat has bought and moved into the pub in his absence.

He realises that Kat doesn’t know about Zoe yet, so he enlists Stacey’s help as he attempts to get to his other half before she can listen to the incriminating voicemail from the previous night.

But the newly married couple’s reunion isn’t exactly a happy one, as Kat thinks that Alfie has been helping Hayley so is furious with him for lying to her yet again.

Alfie tries his best to make amends and save his relationship and promises Kat that he will be honest with her from now on – while also upping his efforts to delete the message.

However, a twist of fate unexpectedly resolves this tense situation for Alfie, as shortly after, a hooded man on a scooter snatches Kat’s phone from her hands, with the Zoe confession disappearing forever.

As Alfie breathes a sigh of relief, he relishes the opportunity to make a fresh start with Kat and their family in the pub that holds so many memories for them.
