Follow-up: Alfie confessed all to Kat – and he’s in big trouble when he returns to Walford

A drunk, guilty Alfie Moon shared the truth about his trip to Spain with Kat in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, July 24), admitting how he’d travelled in search of her missing daughter, Zoe. However, Kat wasn’t actually there to hear his confession… which now waits on her phone’s voicemail.

Alfie left Walford in search of Zoe last month, as she fled the country after staying with Stacey in her rented flat. Hinting that she was hiding a terrible secret for which she’d never be forgiven, she scarpered to Spain.

This left Kat in the dark, with both Stacey and Alfie lying to her about what they’d been up to. Alfie pursued Zoe to Spain, determined to reunite mother and daughter. This was easier said than done, and a call to Stacey earlier this week suggested that Zoe was in trouble with some very bad people…

Alfie revealed the truth to Kat in EastEnders tonight

Kat’s first day as landlady of The Queen Vic took an unexpected turn when the police raided their opening party, arresting Mo for peeing out on the Square. This came only moments after she’d learned the ‘truth’ about Alfie (thanks Jean), who revealed that his trip to Spain had nothing to do with his health.

Dropping both Stacey and Alfie in it, Jean shared the news that Alfie was in Spain, helping out his ex, Hayley, and their daughter Cherry. Kat was fuming, and made Stacey promise that this would be the last of her lies.

Alfie then called after The Vic closed that evening, several beers deep. Full of guilt, he left a message on Kat’s phone informing her exactly where he’d been and what he had been doing.

But how will Kat react when she finally listens to Alfie’s message? And what awaits him upon his return next week?
