Owen – the man who drugged Robert – is found dead in his home. On his laptop, the police find a written “confession” which makes out that he’s responsible for Nate’s death, but this is all part of John’s plan.

DS Walsh heads to the village to inform Cain and Tracy that Nate’s murder may have finally been solved.

News of Owen’s supposed guilt gets back to Robert, who’s struck by the incredible coincidence that his spiker could be linked to Nate’s death. It doesn’t seem to add up, so Robert can’t help feeling suspicious over John.

Robert’s unease grows further when Claudette mentions that John made a house call to Owen shortly before he died.

Turning detective, Robert arranges to meet Owen’s brother Steve and discovers that Owen had a cast-iron alibi for the date of Nate’s murder. Robert heads to the police station, announcing that he has new evidence to share about the case.

John hopes that the news about Owen will help Cain to get closure, but the mechanic’s troubled mental state seems worse than ever. Cain tries to seek answers from Liam when it comes to Owen, but is left furious when Liam refuses to breach doctor-patient confidentiality by saying anything.

Later, it dawns on John that he’s robbed Cain of his chance to ever get justice by framing Owen. He seeks an escape by reaching out to a helpline again, but becomes worried when his usual volunteer suggests they should talk on the phone rather than messaging each other.

Eric meddles in Charity, Jacob and Sarah’s baby arrangement by telling Mack what’s going on behind his back. Mack confronts Charity and a dramatic argument follows as she defends her decision.

Jacob is devastated that Eric has betrayed his trust and caused so much trouble, but Eric makes no apologies and warns that his grandson is making a big mistake.

Sarah considers scrapping the surrogacy plan, as she doesn’t want to be responsible for Charity and Mack splitting up. Charity insists this isn’t necessary, as Mack is sure to be won over.

Later, though, Mack shocks Charity by warning that she needs to choose between the surrogacy and their marriage.

Robert has a secret meeting with Kim to discuss the handover of Annie’s Field. Kim warns Joe that nobody can know about their plans for the land.

Later, Robert senses that Kim is desperate over the field and changes his mind by refusing to sign it over. He’s far more interested in finding out why Kim is so interested in that specific patch of land…

Moira learns that her appeal to the water company has been turned down and the fine for the slurry leak will still stand.

When Kim heads off to Dubai, it’s left to Joe to do her dirty work. He reminds Moira that Kim is willing to buy Butler’s Farm from her, which leaves her with a difficult decision to make.

For the first time, Moira seems to be considering selling to Kim, and Cain promises to support her with whatever she decides.

April tells Marlon that she’s loving working at Take A Vow with Belle.

Marlon advises April to return to college and focus on her studies, but it seems that April has other ideas.

Paddy tells Marlon that he has started volunteering on a crisis helpline.

It’s a positive move for Paddy and he enjoys helping to make a difference after his own struggles with his mental health. But surely with John reaching out to a helpline, two stories are about to collide?
