BERNIE EXITS AFTER SHOCKING THREAT – EASTENDERS’ SIX EXPOSED AND ELAINE SUFFERS HEART ATTACK

Our EastEnders review of this week’s episodes is full of questions because no one is really acting the way we’re expecting them to.

It was a dramatic week in EastEnders with Elaine suffering a heart attack, Bernie threatening – again – to expose The Six’s big secret, and then leaving the Square forever, and Walford Pride bringing some rainbow fun to proceedings.

Here’s our round-up of the action in our EastEnders review.

So long, farewell!

It was farewell to Felix, bye bye to Bernie and ta-ra to Tara Misu this week. And we have to say, we’re not sure we’re going to miss them one bit.

Poor Felix had such potential but he never quite got his own storyline, and Bernie… Well, where to begin? Since Keanu died, Bernie’s only real role seems to have been to lurk around the Square, scowling at Linda. In her weird quest for revenge for her brother’s murder she managed to ignore two quite important things – firstly that she was the one who revealed the truth about Keanu’s dark deeds to Sharon on the wedding day and kickstarted the whole chain of events that led to his death. And secondly, that Keanu was about to kill Sharon, had Linda not intervened.

Anyway, now Bernie’s gone, after an emotional reminder of Belle, the stillborn baby she had as a young teen. But without any reminders of Roland, the baby she sold.

While we won’t miss Bernie, we are sad that the departure of her and Felix means the end of the Taylor family. They definitely made their mark on Albert Square! Perhaps one of them will return one day.

EastEnders: Where is Sharon?

Bernie’s efforts to steal a load of cash from under the Panesars’ noses meant that The Six were once again reunited. Well. five of them were.

We must say, it seemed a bit unfair for Kathy and Linda to demand that Suki just handed over thousands of pounds to Bernie. “It’s only money,” they said, while not offering to contribute in any way. Harsh,

And the women coming together really highlighted the lack of Sharon. Where is she? Why has she gone away for so long? Will she return with Spencer? Or Michelle? Or a new husband? However she returns, we hope it’s soon!

What’s happened to Elaine?

Elaine Peacock suffered a heart attack this week, but we’re more concerned about her personality transplant. As recently as Christmas, Elaine was a strong, independent woman who’d been through a lot but come out the other side.

And now she’s broken and needy and a bit of a liability. We really want to see her back to her best, and we’re interested to see what she and Linda might do now they’re selling the pub.

Perhaps they could join forces to run a market stall selling pink sparkly clothes and flamingo accessories. Or run a counselling service for people facing all sorts of trauma – because between them, they’ve been through everything.

Husband secretly gay and now a drag queen? Check. Accidentally killed your best friend’s fiance? Check. Husband lost at sea? Check!

Maybe Linda could be Phil’s next gangster moll? Or Elaine could launch her own brand of pink fizz. We see great (sequinned) things in their future.

EastEnders review: Priya and Ravi

Priya and Ravi belong together and nothing can convince us otherwise. Their antics with the water and Bernie’s laptop this week were one of the highlights of the episodes, and they have SO much chemistry. We hope it happens!

EastEnders review: Zoe looks tearful

EastEnders review: What’s Stacey thinking?!

Speaking of chemistry, you know who has none? Kat and Alfie. Alfie is a loser who lets Kat down every time and we cannot for the life of us work out why Stacey is in cahoots with him.

Stacey has her faults but she is loyal and there is no way she’d prioritise the feelings of Zoe over Kat. It makes no sense. Just tell her the truth, for heaven’s sake. So what if Zoe leaves again? She’s been gone 20 years already. No one would miss her.

Alfie’s default setting seems to be lying to Kat, so we get why he’s not telling the truth, but we just don’t buy that Stacey would be so secretive.

The bratty Zoe we remember from two decades ago has popped back in and caused chaos. Fingers crossed she shows up again soon and sorts everything out. But we’re not holding our breath!
