Next week on Casualty, the show’s next boxset ‘Supply and Demand’ begins – and we’re jumping forward another three months in time. Iain finds himself in more danger than ever before, while Flynn faces a new problem in the hospital, and Ngozi and Nicole are at odds.
There will soon be more exciting details about what this new boxset will involve, but for now, here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect from the dramatic first episode:
1. Indie is disappointed

After a successful callout together, Indie tells Iain that there won’t be a job at Holby for her when she graduates. Jan is still angry, after she found out that Indie allowed her dad to rob her house. Iain stands up for his colleague and appeals to Jan to forgive Indie, but Jan insists that they all need a fresh start.

Indie finishes preparing the first response bags then she and Iain head off on another job – but she forgets to pack a box of important medication…
2. Flynn faces a new challenge

Clinical lead Flynn finds out that the pharmacy has restricted liquid salbutamol, when an end-of-life patient desperately needs it. He confronts pharmacist Sunny, who explains that they are in a difficult situation and need to stockpile the supply.
Flynn promises to speak to the board about this, but he gets distracted when his kids arrive at the ED – as he had agreed to look after them that afternoon. Will Flynn manage to balance these personal and professional issues?

3. Iain is in peril

Iain and Indie arrive at the Docks and try to communicate with an unwell crane driver over the radio. Jan and Teddy also head to the scene, but with HART still 30 minutes away, Iain takes matters into his own hands and attempts to scale the crane himself to get to the patient.
On the way up, Iain slips and puts himself in grave danger. But he also faces another huge problem that forces him to make a quick and risky decision. Will Iain’s heroics pay off?
4. Ngozi’s struggles continue

Ngozi found the courage to tell Nicole about her alcoholism and relapse at the end of the last boxset, but her partner shockingly ended their relationship and asked her to move out as a result. Three months on, things are still clearly tense between the exes, and Nicole chastises Ngozi for her drinking when she spots her throwing up in the toilets.
Ngozi and Nicole struggle to work together and their fighting leads to them making a big mistake in the ED. Can they manage put their issues aside?

5. Rash meets Sunny
BBC
Rash collects his prescription of antidepressants from the pharmacy, and Sunny recognises that he has decreased his dosage. She checks in with him about this change, and Rash feels happy to have been noticed by her.
Could this be the start of a new friendship for Rash, or even something more?
Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One and now streams first on BBC iPlayer, where episodes are released at 6am on the day of transmission.
