The ‘Yellowstone’ Empire Expands: New Spinoffs Confirmed & Park Activity Monitored

The world of Yellowstone continues to grow even after the flagship series concluded in late 2024. Creator Taylor Sheridan is forging ahead with multiple new series, while the actual Yellowstone National Park experiences its own natural phenomena.

1. TV Series Updates: The Dutton Legacy Continues

The Dutton story is far from over, with several highly anticipated projects in various stages:

  • Beth and Rip Spinoff (Dutton Ranch – Tentative Title):

    • Status: Officially confirmed by Paramount Global in their Q1 2025 earnings call. Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) and Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) have signed on to reprise their iconic roles.
    • Release: Slated for a November 2025 premiere on Paramount Network, with streaming available on Paramount+.
    • Plot: This series will pick up directly after the events of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2, following Beth and Rip as they navigate their new lives, likely establishing their own ranching legacy. Finn Little (Carter) is also expected to be part of the cast. Cole Hauser recently indicated that “Dutton Ranch” is not the final title, but did not reveal the true name.
  • Kayce Dutton Spinoff (Y: Marshals):

    • Status: Officially ordered to series by CBS in May 2025. Luke Grimes will return as Kayce Dutton.
    • Release: Scheduled to premiere on CBS in Spring 2026, airing on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with streaming on Paramount+. This marks a major move, bringing a Yellowstone universe show to broadcast television.
    • Plot: The series will follow Kayce as he becomes part of an elite unit of U.S. Marshals in Montana, combining his cowboy skills with his Navy SEAL background. It will pick up after Kayce sold the Yellowstone Ranch land to the Broken Rock Reservation in the original series finale. Production is expected to begin this summer. Taylor Sheridan will be an executive producer, but Spencer Hudnut (from SEAL Team) is taking the lead as writer, director, and showrunner.
  • The Madison:

    • Status: Confirmed and in active production.
    • Starring: Michelle Pfeiffer is confirmed to lead the series, with Patrick J. Adams and Beau Garrett also in the cast.
    • Plot: Originally titled 2024, this series takes place in present-day Montana, but is separate from the Dutton family’s direct narrative. It will follow a New York City family relocating to the Madison River valley after a personal tragedy, focusing on themes of grief and human connection. Its connection to the Duttons is still unclear but possible given their shared universe. A premiere date is expected in late 2025 or early 2026
