Yellowstone star Cole Hauser isn’t leaving his cowboy era anytime soon.
Known for his role as Rip in the oh-so-popular Taylor Sheridan series, the 50-year-old actor is returning to the small screen this fall in a highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoff. According to Deadline, he and Kelly Reilly will be returning as their iconic characters, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, to lead the new series. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Hauser made sure to clear up a few things for fans curious about his character’s future in the Yellowstone universe.
“Well, first of all, it’s not ‘Dutton Ranch,’” he began. “That’s not the name of it,” he revealed in regards to the spinoff’s rumored title. Still, he went on to reassure fans that they can “expect the same that [they’ve] been doing for the last seven years. Kelly (Reilly) and I going and working our a** off trying to create something special.”

Hauser’s portrayal of Rip Wheeler has earned him fan-favorite status among viewers. His storyline began when Rip, as a boy, killed his abusive stepfather to protect his mother. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) took him in, and Rip was raised on the ranch as something of an adopted son—if being the Duttons’ personal enforcer counts as part of the family.
Since wrapping up Yellowstone, Hauser has remained in touch with his inner cowboy. Much like his character, he has a deep passion for horseback riding which only got stronger as his experiences on the show went on.
“Taylor [Sheridan] has been great throughout the five years of putting me with some of the best in the business when it comes to continuing to grow and be better not only [in] my job as a cowboy, but also in the world of being a great horseman. So I’m blessed and lucky to have these people around me. And I’ll continue to do it,” he told Fox News Digital.

When he’s not in the saddle, Hauser has also picked up a new hobby that puts him behind the camera instead of in front of it. Recently, he produced, wrote, directed, and starred in Professional Bull Rider’s latest short film called, “Be Cowboy.” After watching it, we’re even more obsessed with Cole and can’t wait to hear more about the future of the Yellowstone spinoff.
