ITV fans fear Bradley Walsh’s show has been axed after series comes to an end

The sixth series of ‘Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad’ wrapped up on Tuesday (May 6) with the dynamic father-son duo exploring the vibrant city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.

Throughout this season, Bradley and Barney have embarked on an epic journey across Japan and Thailand, engaging in a variety of activities from sumo wrestling in Tokyo to bungee jumping in Gifu, go-karting in Osaka, and Muay Thai training in Bangkok.

In the final episode, Barney set up an exhilarating jungle roller coaster ride through Chiang Mai, promising a unique thrill for those brave enough to keep their eyes open.

They also braved the world’s smelliest fruit, which left Bradley more shocked by its £36 price tag than its pungent aroma and taste.

Bradley and Barney also participated in a wooden go-kart race that no sane travel insurer would approve.

Reflecting on six successful seasons, Bradley and Barney shared some of their fondest memories from the show, stirring nostalgia among fans. However, the trip down memory lane sparked concerns among viewers about the show’s future.

On social media platform X, one viewer expressed hope that the series would continue: “Really hope this wasn’t the last series! I really enjoy watch Bradley and Barney’s adventures!! #breakingdad.”

Another fan expressed their apprehension: “I genuine hope this isn’t the final episode of #BreakingDad that I’ve watched tonight. This father and son are great to watch together!”

A third chimed in: “Awww hope that isn’t the last series. Such an entertaining show.”

There has been no word on whether Bradley Walsh and his son Barney will be back for a seventh series, as ITV has not yet made an official statement on the matter, reports the Express.

A mainstay on our televisions since the latter part of the 1980s, Bradley first appeared as the host of ‘You Must Be Joking’ and later featured in well-known TV programmes such as ‘Coronation Street’, ‘The Larkins’, and ‘Doctor Who’.

Yet, he is perhaps most famous for his role as the dynamic quizmaster of ITV’s hit game show, The Chase, which he has helmed since its inception in 2009.

More recent ventures have seen Bradley Walsh team up with his offspring, Barney, for the BBC’s revival of the competition show Gladiators.

Speaking to BBC’s Tommy Tiernan, Bradley Walsh opened up about his enjoyment of making ‘Breaking Dad’, remarking: “It’s one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever done because spending time with my lad. From the age of 18, he’s now 26 by the way, that’s how long the show’s been running, it was just extraordinary.”
