90 Day Fiancé alum Nicole Nafziger left fans feeling concerned and confused in April 2025 when she appeared to indicate that ex Azan Tefou (a.k.a. Hassan M‘Raouni) had died. However, this wasn’t the first time that the reality star had reported that Azan had passed, and her page has even posted her own death announcement a few times. So, what’s going on with the former couple?
Did 90 Day Fiance’s Azan Tefou Die?
On April 23, 2025, Nicole posted a black and white photo of herself and Azan on Instagram with the caption, “#RIP I am absolutely shattered and heartbroken to confirm he died.” She added a broken heart emoji and another hashtag that read, “#LinkInBio.” Nicole also shared the post on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I am devastated to confirm he passed away.”

In her bio, Nicole added a link to an article about celebrities who passed away in 2024. Azan’s name did not appear to be included in the list. She also linked to the article in her Instagram Stories. The post appeared to be clickbait.
Azan has not been active on his own social media since 2020.
Nicole turned off comments on her announcement post, so fans were not able to share their reactions there. However, many took to her August 2023 post to say that they weren’t falling for the seemingly fake announcement.
“How many times is he going to die? I’ve seen her post this before!” one user wrote, while another person added, “He didn’t die. She has faked his death before.”
Others slammed Nicole for the behavior.

“You’re a horrible person using fake death clickbait to get money. Just gross behavior,” a second user added, while another person wrote, “This girl needs an intervention.”
90 Day Fiance’s Nicole Nafziger Previously Denied Saying Azan Was Dead
As many fans mentioned in comments, this was not the first time Nicole has posted about Azan’s alleged death. She made similar posts in 2023 and 2024. The Florida native also made a post in 2020, adding a photo of Azan with a broken heart emoji and a link to a list of celebrity deaths. She even addressed the scandal after a fan’s scathing comment on Instagram.
“Azan had better keep running away from her because Nicole could be one of those deadly women,” the fan’s comment read. “She already lied on her [Twitter] telling everyone that Azan was dead. And when people started sending their condolences and asking what happened, she confessed to making the whole thing up. [Lying] about something like that isn’t funny. The girl might snap and try to kill him because he has moved on, [things] like this do happen. I don’t understand what possessed her to make up such a lie. Because it isn’t funny. Now, if something does happen to him, she should be the first person the officers confront.”
Nicole, who was still engaged to Azan at the time but later split from him in 2021, responded, “This person spreading lies about me is not OK. I never once said Azan had died. I need everyone to understand this. I never even teased or hinted at that. And the fact that you’re now accusing me of being a dangerous person is very damaging to me. Like you dont even know me. How dare you say such a thing. How ridiculous. I do not understand how their are people out there that are ok with spreading hate like this about someone. You do realize I’m a real f–king person right?”
