Help is direly needed in Emmerdale as Belle Dingle continues to endure Tom King’s controlling and abusive behaviour – but could Wendy Posner be the one to set her free?

After discovering she was pregnant, the fan favourite portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper decided to not share the happy news with her husband, who has been tormenting her for months.

Belle found out she was expecting after taking a pregnancy test while with nurse Wendy Posner (played by Susan Cookson) at the local GP surgery but was clearly shaken by the bombshell.

The Take A Vow wedding planner was eventually forced into telling Tom she was pregnant when he raised a hand, ready to strike her again over a tense exchange with her brother Cain Dingle.

Viewers believe Wendy could be of great help to Belle as she probed the mother-to-be in Emmerdale on Wednesday

This Wednesday (June 12), and despite promising Belle he wouldn’t breath a word, Tom shared her pregnancy news with his aunt Nicola King, uncle Jimmy King and Rhona Goskirk.

When Belle walked into Main Street café, where Tom was when he gave the update, the trio rushed to embrace and congratulate her but, once again, her husband’s breach of her boundaries was hard to digest.

Later on, the couple found themselves with Wendy back at the GP surgery as Tom booked Belle’s appointment himself and demanded that all her appointment details be sent to him – another glimpse of his controlling behaviour. And when Tom was urged by the nurse to leave the room, the vet seemed fight her back as his mask briefly slipped once again.

Wendy stood her ground, leaving Tom with no other choice but to leave the room, which then led the nurse to question Belle over her state of mind. A drained Belle let Wendy know she was fine, albeit hurt by Tom announcing she was pregnant to multiple villagers without her approval.

The scene may have been short, but it was enough for ITV viewers at home to grow convinced that Wendy will be the one to figure out what Belle is going through.

“I’m convinced that Wendy will be the one to expose Tom because her ex husband was abusive and she is deffo starting to see through Belle”, one fan of the Yorkshire-based program commented on X, otherwise known as Twitter.

“Hopefully fake Nurse Wendy understands what’s going on an raises the alarm”, a second TV watcher echoed. A third vowed: “Not a fan of Wendy’s but if she helps Belle get rid of Tom I’ll change my mind.”

Another penned, in reference to Wendy’s former husband Russ: “After remembering that Wendy’s husband was abusive I deffo saw this coming !! It’s time to take Tom down”, while a fifth agreed: “Wendy has worked out about Tom’s gaslighting on Belle.”

“The nurse (Wendy I think) is gona be the one to rumble Tom. She is already suspicious of him”, a relieved viewer chimed in, as another penned: “Wendy has to see through all of this. She’s been though it herself.” But will Wendy’s experience be helpful to Belle?
