Finn finds sympathy in Hope, something his wife Steffy can’t give him. Hope and Finn finally kiss and feel a strong attraction they can’t control. They end up sleeping together despite Finn still being married to Steffy.

Many viewers think Finn is a better match for Hope than for Steffy. However, afterward, Finn regrets it, realizing it was just a temporary feeling and that he didn’t plan to start a serious relationship with Hope. He tells Hope they shouldn’t continue because it could cause trouble. Even though Hope has feelings for Finn, she knows she can’t ruin someone else’s family. Having been married herself, she values family. They agree to keep their night together a secret.

Things change when Hope finds out she’s pregnant. She is shocked that one night together led to her pregnancy. Hope is scared and doesn’t know who to talk to. She feels she has to tell Finn since he’s the father. Finn, being a doctor, understands the importance of life and feels responsible for the baby.
