The Harrison Ford effect is in full swing on the 1923 set.
Helen Mirren tells PEOPLE in this weekâs issue that the men on the set of the Yellowstone prequel series canât get enough of her costar â and she understands it.
âHarrison is such a bloke. Heâs what in England we call a bloke,â she says. âHe is a guy, and because heâs a bloke, all the other blokes absolutely love him, and quite rightfully.â
âHeâs always so lovely to all the other actors,â Mirren, 79, continues of Ford, 82, who plays the husband to her character Cara Dutton on the show. âAnd so we do all sit in the freezing cold on set, on funny, funky, little uncomfortable chairs, and the other guys just gather around Harrison because they just want to be in his company, I think.â

âAnd I tag along,â she adds.
âWe would sit around together and shoot the sâ off-set,â she continues of their dynamic when the cameras arenât rolling. âHarrison is not like an âIâm going to my trailerâ person. I donât think I ever knew him [or] remember him going, ever, to his trailer. We hang around on the set and we do our thing.â

Ford, who plays patriarch Jacob Dutton, echoes her sentiments. âWe had a good time,â he tells PEOPLE. âA good time hanging out together as well as working together.â
As for how heâd describe his costar, he says sheâs âwhat we used to call a broad â and thereâs no disparagement in calling a dame a broad.â
âIt means that sheâs a woman that has the bandwidth to hang with men â not just to be a lady with them, but to actually hang with them,â he says. âSheâs a real cool lady.â

In the showâs long-awaited season 2, which comes more than two years after its premiere, Mirren and Fordâs characters continue to be pushed to the brink to defend their Montana ranch while they await the return of their nephew, Spencer (Brandon Sklenar).
âIt gets bigger and bigger and bigger,â Mirren teases of whatâs to come from the season.
